As an expression of her creative passion, Claudia Wenning, Holistic Health Consultant and Traditional Naturopath, envisions the Willits Valley as a destination for people to gather and exchange meaningful ideas in a convention-style format while also partaking in the natural beauty of the local environment.
The first of these events, The First Northern California Women’s Empowerment Summit, scheduled on Saturday, June 9th, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Little Lake Grange In Willits as an all day conference, will include empowering speakers and experiences; music, dance and movement; networking; a local organic lunch will be served; childcare provided; and an optional evening event with female local artists performing.
“I have a vision that is close to my heart, about women reclaiming their power.
“This event is designed to be energetically uplifting, to provide a platform for women to connect and talk about women’s issues—a space that I, as a woman, can provide,” says Wenning.
“Men are very much welcome as well, to show their support for women, and allow themselves to get in touch with their own feminine aspects.”
Growing up in Germany she became interested in herbs as a teenager and in the early 80s she began her study of Naturopathy in her home country as well as in Italy, France, England and India.
“In Germany Naturopathy is based on using all natural remedies to return the body to a state of health, utilizing herbs, nutritional and life style counseling.”
In 1986 she moved to California and relocated permanently to Willits in 1989. She has earned degrees as MA and Doctor of Traditional Naturopathy, is credentialed as a Certified Nutritional Consultant, Herbalist and certified in Reflexology, Acupressure, Reiki and additional psychotherapeutic modalities.
“Whatever is the issue with your health, if you have not yet received the answers to help you heal, then you can consult with me,” she says. “I may be able to recognize some if the missing pieces of the puzzle. I offer customized protocols and modalities that can help .”
Her holistic health practice is called Quantum Level Consulting.
She shares a comfortably inviting office space with Licensed Acupuncturist Michelle Cummins at the Cultivate Wellness Studio located at the Little Lake Grange.
Cummins, who serves as the volunteer support and staff coordinator for the Women’s Empowerment Summit, will be one of the keynote speakers.
“I see that the our culture has disempowered so many woman,” says Cummins, “and in my practice I see that manifesting as physical ailments. I work with women to help them understand that the events where their power has been taken is a turning point that brought on the imbalance and that working with me to return them to balance and empowerment is another turning point.”
Both Cummins and Wenning facilitate and sponsor free informational events about health including “Open Studio’s”, herbal classes and plant swaps.
In September of 2015, Wenning created the Willits Health Fair, a free event to showcase local natural healthcare providers to the community.
She considers this part of her community service, being able to provide a safe place for people to come and learn from each other.
“There comes a time in someone’s life when they want to talk to a natural health care provider and when that time comes I want people to know what is available,” she says.
Her modalities are Nutritional Consulting and hands-on Energy Balancing to guide individuals from what is happening presently in their lives to where they want to go in terms of their health.
“My belief is that the body is the healer,” she says, “and we can listen to it to determine what it needs to heal. We can listen to the body asking for balance.”
She believes that those who are politically aware have lately become disillusioned, depressed and disempowered.
“If you don’t like what you see, you can wait for somebody to change it or you can reset your energy to gain the strength to engage in positive change,” she says.
The empowerment summit is an event for women who are ready to take part in the change they want to see happen, providing techniques, tools, processes and insights to help them create change from within.
“If you want to see change happening out there, it starts with creating space for change from within; then it’s reflected out. It’s a matter of integrating this into our understanding to allow for manifestation.”
“When women come together in a positive, loving, sharing way, an energy field is created, and my offer to the community is to provide a space for that to happen. We have to allow ourselves to be part of the energy field in order to grow,” she says.
Information and tickets are available on EventBrite. Presale tickets are $65 and at the door are $75.
